For sale: My beautiful, fun, and full of torque, 2003 Honda VTX 1800R.
This bike has had a charmed life. It was owned by a police officer who took great care of it (always garaged, adult ridden). Then by a gentleman and his wife who used it for short haul pleasure riding (always garaged, adult ridden). Then I purchased it (always garaged, adult ridden). I cannot tell that it has ever been dropped, it looks showroom new, except for the very few, tiny, checks in the paint from being on the road. The best thing it is only has 15,327 miles on it. That will go up (once it stops raining) because I put about 20 miles on it each week day.
I am only selling it because I have another VTX 1800, and I'll probably keep it.
This bike needs nothing. It has no mechanical issues, no electrical issues. It starts right up and idles perfectly smooth. When I got it, it was straight piped, but came with the original baffles. I bought some fiberglass wrap and installed the baffles. It is very quiet; almost too quiet, so I would probably peel a layer of fiberglass off the wrap and re-install them. At least you can change it up to get the sound you want.
This bike comes with a quick release windshield, black leather saddle bags (not pictured), two helmets (if you want them), and a heavy duty, full size cover. It also comes with a battery tender.
The bike was serviced one year ago, but I would offer to change the oil, oil filter, and final drive gear fluid, if you purchase.
This bike is very fun to ride! It pulls very strong, whether you are going 30 or 70, and it is very smooth through the turns. Everything works. Truely a turn-key motorcycle. I don't think you will find a nicer 2003 VTX. Valued at $4750, I am asking a simple $4500.
I also have a couple of Corbin seats that you might be interested in. They really look good on this bike. Let me know if you want pictures of them, or a cold start video.
