For sale: My beautiful, fun, and full of torque, 2007 Honda VTX 1800F.
Before I got it, it had been dropped, and the guy I got it from bought with hopes of fixing it up.
After riding it few times, he decided it was too much bike for him.
When I bought it, it had an ugly paint job and the right side of the tank was not repairable.
After sourcing a perfect tank from California, I removed all the parts that would need to be painted.
While winter and the painter did their stuff, I replaced wheel bearings (front and back), brake pads (front and back), tires (front and back), and had one front fork rebuilt. I replaced the front brake fluid reservoir (used), and flushed out all the old brake fluid. I bought a battery, and upgraded the headlight. I changed the oil and oil filter, air filter, and final drive gear fluid. I installed new spark plugs and a battery tender. I also removed the PEAR valve system. I can't tell that did anything...
In the last few weeks, I had a fork (the other one) stark leaking. I took it to a shop who said I need to do them both at the same time, so I did. Both front forks are freshly rebuilt and new steering neck bearings were installed. The new neck bearings made a huge difference!
This bike has always been a blast to ride! It pulls like a pit-bull on crack. The way the tires grip, give you confidence through your turns. I like that it is everything you need on a motorcycle, and nothing you don't.
It might be straight piped; I have never looked into the tail pipe to see if there is a baffle in there or not. I know that the right front turn signal housing is damaged. I bought new LED signals to replace them. I also got an LED tail light. I never installed those items. I'm much more interested in having the machine maintained, running properly, and dependably, than I am with cosmetics. I never used the turn signals, I hand signal. Truth be told, I suck at cosmetic stuff. I just like to ride.
So, if you are looking for a dependable, solid machine that can be sugar sweet, or nasty, this may be the bike for you. The remaining cosmetic stuff should be easy. Oh yeah, It also comes with a full windshield, and the original OEM buddy seat for your passenger. I also have a couple of Corbin seats that you might be able to get mounted. The seats came from a 2003 VTX 1800R and would be sold separately. Mileage: 29,422
Clear Kansas title in my name. Always stored inside. No joy rides without the cash in my hand.
